There must be thousands of sites out there similar to this
one. All of them duplicating effort with SEO
strategies. I own 2 websites - a PR4 and this one -
PR3. It might take me another 2 years at my current rate of
effort to get both to PR5 or above. But today I had an idea
that I could reduce
that time by over 70% if I can team up with a few more
like-minded and carefully selected webmasters.
I am sure you will agree that at least 50% of the effort involved
in any link building strategy is spent sifting through junk
offers, time wasters and get rich quick merchants. We all
know that it is a jungle out there - and the web is no
exception. For example, only today I declined an offer or a
back link from a PR7 website. They wanted links from both
of my front pages. At first I was excited but something
aroused my suspicion and after half an hour of web research I
decided that the website in question was somehow dubious.
This was a real SEO dilemma for me. I still don't know
if I made the right decision or not. The SEO expertssay

Perhaps 1 in 5 (on a good day)
of my organically sourced link partners ever amount to a
goodexchange. And of course we all run the risk of linking
to a site that has been blacklisted in some way which will also
affect our sites credibility. The
really good and genuine link partners (having similar or better
pager rank and quality) require a large effort to locate.
But we can and do find each other eventually. If you are the webmaster of a computer related website that
is similar to mine in theme, rank and quality then you might be
interested in this idea...to set up a trusted web of webmasters
who all own websites with similar theme, rank and quality. Then
to share efforts and resources, particularly with regard to link
building.
An example of how this might work
is:
Say there are 5 of us in our
group. Every time we identify a good linking partner we
somehow notify and include the other 4 members. Perhaps by
way of a blog post or shared email account. This means that we all get 5 times more quality link partners
- all of them researched, tried and
tested by other members of our group.
Share your ideas with
me.
